Where are they NOW?!

This page celebrates our graduates and highlights where they are now.  All graduates are welcome to send their stories to be featured on this page.

 

James Bannoura graduated in 2018 from the St Luke Trade and Technology Program.  During his grade 12 year, James completed his Level 1 Apprenticeship for Automotive Service Technician with St Lawrence College.  He is currently employed by the automotive department of Canadian Tire and will be signing up for his Level 2.

 

Josh Langstaff graduated in 2018 from the St Luke Trade and Technology Program.  During his grade 12 year, Josh completed his Level 1 Apprenticeship for Coach and Motor Vehicle Technician with Algonquin College.  He is currently employed by Brockville Tractor Trailer Maintenance 2001 LTD and has completed his Level 2 at Algonquin College (2019).

 

 

 

 

 

Adryanna Cruse graduated in 2018 from the St Luke Hospitality and Tourism Program.  She is currently enrolled in the CICE program at St Lawrence College taking courses in Child and Youth Care and Mental Health and Addition.

 

Penny Wardle graduated in 2018 from the St Luke Life Skills Program.  She is currently working at Canadian Tire.  Her COOP placement at Canadian Tire during her graduating year led to her being hired after graduation.

 

 

 

 

Devon Beaton and Ty Gammon graduated in 2017 from the St Luke Hospitality and Tourism Program.  Devon and Ty have both been sworn into the Canadian Armed Forces.  Devon has joined as a NESOP – Naval Equipment Sensor Operator and Ty has joined as an Armoured Soldier.  They will begin their career in St Jean.  We are honoured to have them serve our country!

 

Sydney Perkins graduated in 2016 from the St Luke Hospitality and Tourism Program.  She has completed the Police Foundations Program from Algonquin College with honours,  Sydney is currently applying to St.Lawrence College in Kingston for the following programs:  Honours Bachelors Degree in Psychology Certificate Program and the Community and Justice Services Diploma Program.

 

 

 

Simon Start graduated in 2015 from the St Luke Trade and Technology Program.  He has completed the Marine Engineering Technician Program at Georgian College and is currently enrolled in the Marine Engineering Management program.  Part of his program was completing a practicum on the Algoma Strongfield vessel for 120 days which sails the Great Lakes!

 

 

Virginia “Ginnie” Yates graduated in 2015 from St. Luke’s Service and Retail Program. She recently graduated with honours from the Animal Care program at Durham College in Oshawa. She has completed her college placement at Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue in Bowmanville, Ont. in August of 2018. Part of Ginnie’s placement was helping rescue, rehabilitate, and release abandoned or injured wildlife animals from all around The Greater Toronto area. Currently, Ginnie is enrolled at Algonquin College in Ottawa, completing the Food Service Worker Program. She is exploring her options while searching for the desired and ideal animal care career, which is her long-term goal.

 

Matthew Drapeau graduated in 2011 from the St. Luke Service and Retail Program. From there he went on to do the two year Culinary Chef Training Program at Loyalist College.  After college he worked in several kitchens from pubs to golf courses and fine dining in Ontario. In 2016 he made the move to the Alberta Rockies where he spent some time working as a 1st Cook at a small lodge style hotel in their fine dining restaurant. In the fall of 2017, he started a new job as a Sous Chef at Folding Mountain Brewing, a new micro brewery with a taproom and kitchen located between Jasper National Park and Hinton Alberta.

 

Kayla Gillam graduated in 2011 from the St Luke Service and Retail Program.  Kayla loves art and during her time at St Luke’s painted a mural for “Third Hand Clothing” and wrote and illustrated a children’s book.  She continues to paint today.  Kayla owns her own home with her fiance and is in love with her two dogs, Gus and Wilson.

 

 

James Des Rosiers graduated in 2011 from the St Luke Service and Retail Program.  James was an active member of the St Luke student run business “Third Hand Clothing” which raised awareness about sweatshops and the need to reuse.  He connected this business with “Me to We” and sold new Canadian made T-shirts from organic cotton with the Third Hand Clothing logo.  Also during his time at St Luke’s, he was involved in raising money for Operation Come Home and awareness about Youth on the streets.  He even slept on the street during an Operation Come Home Campaign.  Jame’s high school coop placement turned into a full time job, managing a Tim Horton’s.  He has owned his own business and has worked for Bell Canada as a Field Service Technician.  Currently he is a manager at Tim Horton’s.
